First you meet at the festival area where you can pick up your goodie bag at the rider registration tent
women shred presented by Arnicare, by Boiron is back!
As a celebration of women mountain bikers, the 5th annual women shred event aims at championing female mountain bikers through rides and workshops.
After last year's successful events, women shred caters to the experienced mountain biker who is in for a new discovery or for the novice rider who wants to hone her skills. The annual event continues to be dedicated to the inclusion of women and mountain biking. This year we partnered up with the Women of OZ who will host a First touch to MTB workshop....
First you meet at the festival area where you can pick up your goodie bag at the rider registration tent. Then you'll start in the women shred space with some balancing exercises, challenge you to ride over skinny beams (on the floor), master braking skills, learn to use your body and warm you up to go on the trails.
These legends will take you on to the Coler trail system and will decide according to the skill of your group which berm, drop or any other technical difficulty you love to improve at.
To be a better rider, ride safer and have better control skill is key!
Women of OZ, who take care of the essentials and first touch to MTB will introduce you to Mountainbiking and host the beginner workshops, guided by certified coaches.
Don't let these World class riders scare you, they are all very approachable and patient teachers who will explain you everything they learned from riding bikes all over the world in the past 3 decades. Don't miss this opportunity!
THE WORKSHOPS
- women shred workshops presented by Arnicare, by Boiron (limited to 30 spots, 3*10) with Anneke Beerten & friends. We offer 2 Intermediate level & 1 advanced workshop. Anneke who's a multiple world champion mountainbiker and a resident of Bentonville will lead these 3 groups, take you on the trails and teach you techniques & skills to make you enjoy your bike even more, ride safer and faster!
- The women of Oz First touch to MTB workshops (limited to 16 spots, 2*8) with certified instructors. If you have never ridden a mountain bike before, or it’s been a little longer than you would like to admit….. Welcome. You have to start somewhere and this is the place! Start with the women of OZ' fundamental skills clinic for some mountain bike basics and then hit the trails for an introductory ride. Our goal is to get you familiar with your bike and learn basic mountain biking skills. This clinic will cover pre-ride bike check, braking, shifting, pedals positions, ready/neutral position, bike body separation and much more! (source: woznwa.com)
